You are not planning a wedding. You are preparing a covenant, and only one of them still has a claim on you Monday morning.
Fifteen parts. The early ones ask what marriage actually is and whether the two of you are ready for it. Then the households that formed you, and what it means to leave them. Then the ordinary weight of a shared life — faith and worship at home, roles held without either of you shrinking, how you’ll fight, money, the marriage bed, children if God gives them, work and time, hospitality, and the differences you already know are there.
An appendix takes up the harder starting points: an unbelieving family, a blended household, a couple already living together, a history one of you hasn’t told.
At the back there’s a toolbox of working pages, including a real budget, rules of engagement for your first fights, and a covenant the two of you sign.
Answer separately, then compare. That’s the whole method. Write honestly, and leave no sealed rooms in the house you’re about to build.
Sign that covenant before anyone hears you say a word in front of a crowd. The crowd isn’t who you’re promising.
